چکیده

The key limitation of existing Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) systems is the service distances between reference stations and user receivers due to the impact of distance-dependent biases such as orbit error, and ionospheric and tropospheric signal delay. In current Network-RTK implementations, the inter-station distance is typically 70km to 90km. If coverage were to be extended to the whole Queensland at this density, the number of CORS receivers required would be of the order of several hundred, representing tens of millions of dollars in installation costs, and millions per annum for operations. However, use of multiple-frequency GNSS signals and/or multiple satellite GNSS systems could possibly redefine future RTK services on both a regional and global basis. Possible future GNSS services could realize regional network-based RTK services at the centimetre to decimetre accuracy level. The reference stations equipped with triple-frequency GNSS receivers may be spaced up to a few hundred kilometres apart, to provide differential and

Developing Regional Precise Positioning Services Using the Legacy and Future GNSS Receivers

This paper presents an overview of technical solutions for regional area precise GNSS positioning services such as in Queensland. The research focuses on the technical and business issues that currently constrain GPS-based local area Real Time Kinematic (RTK) precise positioning services so as to operate in future across larger regional areas, and therefore support services in agriculture, mini...

A Novel Sampling Approach in GNSS-RO Receivers with Open Loop Tracking Method

Propagation of radio occultation (RO) signals through the lower troposphere results in high phase acceleration and low signal to noise ratio signal. The excess Doppler estimation accuracy in lower troposphere is very important in receiving RO signals which can be estimated by sliding window spectral analysis. To do this, various frequency estimation methods such as MUSIC and ESPRIT can be adopt...

GNSS Coordination at the National Level: the Australian Experience

In May 2000 the Australian Minister for Transport and Regional Services, advised by his Department, established a non-executive stakeholder body, the Australian GNSS Coordination Committee (AGCC), with terms of reference aimed at national coordination of GNSS application. This initiative responded principally to perceptions of potential for economies and efficiencies from national-level standar...

A New GNSS Single-Epoch Ambiguity Resolution Method Based on Triple-Frequency Signals

Fast and reliable ambiguity resolution (AR) has been a continuing challenge for real-time precise positioning based on dual-frequency Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) carrier phase observation. New GNSS systems (i.e., GPS modernization, BDS (BeiDou Navigation Satellite System), GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and Galileo) will provide multiple-frequency signals. The GNSS...
